It is not too often that I send you somewhere else for some good education here in this blog. Quite simply there are not to many guys and gals out there I respect enough to do it. One of those days is today though. I was introduced to Eddie Starnater‘s work by my good friend Doug Meyer. I watched a few of his videos and found many of them to be incredibly educational in the way of primitive skills. One skill he was discussing was how to extract oils from certain nuts so that it can be used in making candles and in fire building.
Good stuff huh?? Well I wanted to link to that video here so you can see it as well. Please go check it out. What I thought I would do is also take you on a woods walk to go find a hickory tree, so you know what it looks like. In this video I show you what a shagbark hickory looks like as well as some things it offers to us in nature. These tips along what Eddie shared in his video, will show you how important this tree is.
As always, come on, join in, let’s learn together!
