Maintaining your core body temperature, or getting it back after you have gone down the road into hypothermia is of utmost importance for all of us in everyday outdoor related activities. Whether you are in a survival situation or simply hunting, the sun can play a huge role in you being able to maintain your warmth. For those of you like myself who have spent countless nights and early morning hunts waiting for that sun to come up over the horizon, you know exactly what I mean.
The big question is how much of a difference does it really make? Again, for those of us who spend a lot of time outside you know how important this is. So I took the opportunity of a sunny December day (not a lot of those) to actually put it to the test. I bought a couple of thermometers. I placed one in the sun, I placed one in the shadows of a tree and some bushes.
The result is this video which includes my findings and several other pieces of useful information.
Come on, join in, let’s learn together!
