Top Five Online Places To Buy Food Storage Items

I feel as though I have failed you.  In all of my excitement I have neglected to share some of the best resources on the web for food storage supplies.  While a lot of what you will need will come from a local grower or grocery store, some things may need to be purchased online and there are some truly fantastic (and reasonably priced) options online.

My garden is on its way in, and I’ll soon be knee-deep in tomatoes and green beans. But I will need more than that when it counts, and here’s where I get it (in no particular order):

1. Emergency Essentials

Emergency essentials is my go-to for the best combo packages of freeze dried or dehydrated meats and cheeses.  They are the most affordable and items can be purchases a-la-carte, or in a set. I like the sets because they are the most affordable and get rave reviews for taste and quality.  The meat combo is 6 #10 (that’s about a gallon) cans of hamburger, sausage, turkey, chicken, ham and something else that escapes me at this moment…costs about $230 dollars and will be worth every penny to me in a time of need.

2. Honeyville Grain

Honeyville sells fantastic grain mills, dried goods and dehydrated foods. I purchase the majority of my dried butter, cheese sauces, milk and texturized vegetable protein (TVP) from them and find the quality outstanding. The also sell several kinds of dried fruits and vegetables that have gotten positive feedback.

3. Amazon

You can get anything on Amazon from hand-held washing machines, to stove-top ovens and dried banana flakes.  You want it, they have it and the prices are usually competative.

4. Ebay

I’d say you didn’t know you can get bulk dried food items here. Feel free to bid just make sure you have all the details on a product before plunking down your money. Ensure from the seller that all items are factory-sealed and keep in mind that you don’t know where these items have been stored. Long-term exposure to extreme temperatures can dramatically reduce the shelf life of food even if it is being marketed as shelf stable for 25 years or more, be careful.

5. Food Storage Made Easy

I love these girls. I think of them as mentors to me. Not only can you purchase the best in storage systems from Shelf Reliance directly through their site, they are also sellers of Thrive food storage items which are affordable and taste great.  Be sure to watch for sales and you can get some great deals.

Many of these sites offer monthly deals including %15 off your entire order at times. Make sure to take advantage of discounts, clearance items and coupons when making a purchase for these big-ticket items.
