A tactical medical kit AND the knowledge on how to use the items in it could very likely be the most likely items you will use in a go-bag. How many of you have ever been in or seen a car wreck? How many of you enjoy hunting, or other shooting sports? Do you ever use sharp equipment such as a machete, chainsaw, hatchet, ax or similar far away from medical attention? If you answered yes to any of these questions you could easily be placed in a situation where the use of some basic items and a some knowledge could be the difference between life and death.
If you are not part of the Dan’s Depot forums you should be. One of the admins in the forums, Regulator 5, suggested I talk about tactical medical kits for Tactical Tuesday today. It was a great idea for several reasons. First I get to talk about the items in a kit that I take with me everyday. Secondly, it gives me an opportunity to recommend getting in the forums for more and varied info. After the video here where I go into the items in my kit, I have a listing of where you can buy these items, as well as some links to forums topics for you to check out as well.
Also if you are in our area, I highly recommend our Wilderness and Remote First Aid class that is coming up. This class is taught by Dean Hart, who is former-service Marine, current active duty paramedic, and certified in several remote and tactical medicine entities.
These are all items easily found on Amazon. If you use the links below, we get a small percentage of the sale. This makes us happy and allows us to keep putting out this free info. Thank you for your support.
I just went into the Dan’s Depot Forums and did a search on Medical Training and Medical Kits and came up with about 10 different threads on there that would prove extremely helpful, so jump in there and check those out as well.
As always, come on, join in, let’s learn together!
